Council Member Rebecca Chamberlain-Creanga officially launches her campaign for Troy City Council

May 2, 2020

A message from Council Member Chamberlain-Creanga:

Dear Family, Friends, Neighbors and Supporters,

Today I am excited to officially launch my campaign to continue my role as City Councilwoman for the Troy City Council election on August 4, 2020!

As a problem-solver, economic expert and working mother, I chose with my husband to raise our five-year-old son in a city rated as the “#1 best town in Michigan to raise a family.” We value Troy's diversity and strong neighborhoods. I am the first in my family to have earned a graduate degree (Ph.D.), and I am honored to have worked at the world’s leading development and finance institution, the World Bank, and now at The Kresge Foundation here in Troy.

Public service is in my blood. My father was a longtime council member. He always emphasized that city council is about helping people and solving local issues that matter most to people.

As we deal with the most pressing issues in Troy surrounding COVID-19 and its economic impact - in the largest city in Oakland County - these are the very challenges I've devoted my life to working on through philanthropy and international development. I am now running for local office to be a listener and problem-solver to get Troy’s economy going again, to restore our quality of life through Troy's civic assets and green spaces as we recover from the pandemic and, above all, to keep our residents safe.

Please join me and my family on this journey and donate to the campaign at rebecca4troy.com.

Thank you, and stay tuned for more updates!
